Heather Shaw, Film Director

With diverse experience as a filmmaker, choreographer, performer, and curator, Heather Shaw’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The World National Radio Show, IPA Press Arts, Bold Magazine, thINKing Dance, and more. 

Heather is the co-director of the activist screendance documentary, Telephone, with Krishna Washburn. The first of its kind, Telephone celebrates the art form of audio description for dance, allowing blind and visually impaired people to be included fully in the joy of artistic expression. The film has screened across the country, including at Lincoln Center, Mill Valley Film Festival, San Francisco Dance Film Festival, New Museum Los Gatos, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. Telephone received support from New York State Council on the Arts, Puffin Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Town of Los Gatos, NYU Center for Disability Studies, and more. Through her work with Telephone​, Heather has guest lectured at NYU, Berklee College of Music, Carnegie Mellon, Carleton College, and Rutgers. 

Heather’s choreography has been featured at YAGP, California Dance Classics, ONYX Dance Co, spARC Dance Festival, Dance Mission SF, and more. In 2020, she was selected as one of five Project Tier choreographers from across the country for Regional Dance America’s NCI. She is currently the Artistic Director of Montage Contemporary Company and teaches ballet and contemporary at Montage Dance Studio and TDC of Los Gatos. She previously taught barre and fitness at Equinox, Pure Barre, and on the FOX Studios lot.

As a dancer, Heather performed professionally with MKM Bollystars and Daurden Contemporary Dance Theater in Los Angeles, and currently with ArcTangent Dance in San Jose, CA. In 2016, she participated in the Vertigo International Dance Program in Jerusalem through a MASA grant. 

Heather received her early dance training at Santa Cruz Ballet Theater and TDC of the Bay Area. She is a graduate of the two-year acting program at The Meisner Technique Studio in San Francisco and holds a BA in Philosophy (with a Theater/Dance minor) from UC Berkeley.

As a curator, Heather has served as Performing Arts Manager at the Oshman Family JCC and Co-Curator of TEDxPaloAlto. Her artistic interests include exploring the intersection of movement, sentience, perception, cultural behavior, and aesthetics. She is the founder of Moonshot Creative Studios, LLC and is currently working on her new documentary, The Kid in Blue.

Holly Millet, Production & Outreach Coordinator

Holly joins the Moonshot Creative Studios team supporting production and outreach efforts for The Kid in Blue documentary. Holly brings a background in global partnerships, experiential education, and international programs. She has spent her career building strategic partnerships and creating meaningful educational experiences with organizations such as Birthright Israel Onward, Israel Outdoors, the Girl Scouts, and various university service-learning and global engagement programs.

Holly holds a master's degree in Higher Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with minors in Women’s and Gender Studies and Communication Studies, from James Madison University. After earning her master’s degree, she completed a Masa Israel Teaching Fellowship, where she taught English at a local elementary school in Haifa, Israel. Her work has taken her from university campuses to Israel and beyond, where she developed a deep appreciation for the power of travel, cultural exchange, and storytelling to foster empathy and human connection.

At Moonshot Creative Studios, Holly is excited to support a project that encourages identity exploration, understanding, and shared humanity through film.

Asaf Shani, Film Editor

Asaf Shani is an accomplished television editor with extensive experience in documentary series and docu-reality programming. He collaborates regularly with Israel’s leading media outlets and broadcasters, editing a diverse range of projects from high-impact documentary films to prime-time television. Asaf holds a B.F.A. from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.

Alaina Egnal, Community Engagement & Marketing Intern

Alaina is a student at University of California San Diego, where she majors in Media Industries Communications. She is an active member of the UCSD Dance Team and Chi Omega, serving as Instagram Chair for both organizations. Alaina is also the Events Director of Chaverot, a Jewish women’s group through Hillel San Diego. In addition to her campus involvement, she interns with The Kid in Blue and works as a dance teacher at Studio650 in Palo Alto and Menlo Park.

Arielle Keller, Social Media Manager

Arielle joined the Moonshot Creative Studios team in 2026. Since graduating from Mills College with an MFA in Dance and Master of Management, Arielle has worked in various administrative support roles in higher education and arts organizations.

Arielle is the Artistic Director of ArcTangent Dance, executive producer of SpARC Dance Festival, and a member of JCRC Silicon Valley. In 2012, she participated in the Masa Israel Journey Dance program on Kibbutz Ga’aton. Arielle works with Moonshot Creative Studios supporting both The Kid in Blue as well as the screendance documentary, Telephone.
